Mother, mother ocean, I have heard you call Wanted to sail upon your waters since I was three feet tall You've seen it all, you've seen it all
Watched the men who rode you switch from sails to steam And in your belly you hold the treasures few have ever seen Most of 'em dream, most of 'em dream
Yes I am a pirate, two hundred years too late The cannons don't thunder, there's nothin' to plunder I'm an over-forty victim of fate Arriving too late, arriving too late
I've done a bit of smugglin', Ive run my share of grass I made enough money to buy Miami, but I pissed it away so fast Never meant to last, never meant to last
And I have been drunk now for over two weeks I passed out and I rallied and I sprung a few leaks But I got stop wishin', got to go fishin' Down to rock bottom again Just a few friends, just a few friends
(instrumental)
I go for younger women, lived with several awhile Though I ran 'em away, they'd come back one day Still could manage to smile Just takes a while, just takes a while
Mother, mother ocean, after all the years I've found My occupational hazard being my occupation's just not around I feel like Ive drowned, gonna head uptown I feel like Ive drowned, gonna head uptown.
Lyrics to: 'A Pirate Looks at 40,' by Jimmy Buffett
Edit notes: As my daughter and I topped the hill, the inlet came into view. I saw this incredible color and light on the ocean -- between the storm passing and the storm on the way, & I just couldn't get to the shore quickly enough.
Nature is amazing.
I attempted noise removal. Sharpened and light contrast adjustment.
Its dark, yes ... but it was dark and forbidding and the air was so ... heavy. The ocean only seems to get this color this time of year I am told because of the light right now. I believe it. I was amazed with the shades of blue and aqua last year about October.
tis true it is dark hon, but the detail you got in the suns rays thru the clouds and such is awesome. and the darker parts give it that much more mystery. Honestly i think you captured the sea perfectly...in my opinion the mystery of unknown is exactly what the sea is because we never know what it will do next
great piece.

When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
A Special Collection of photographs i found this month that still haunts my mind. Show them some love There are always some i can`t include due to space, i try to make the features under 50 deviations to give them better exposure
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
